Hypocrite

I have been working at the computer today. During the 6 or so hours I have been at the computer, I have wasted - just a guess mind you - about 3.5 of those hours facebooking, stumbling, tumbling, etc. Maybe that's a problem.

Hypocrite - because I am relentless when it comes to my children and their homework, etc. being done before computer time.

It is a problem. Maybe I want something more from myself. Maybe, just maybe this would be a good place to start. Self discipline.

How on EARTH do you spend 3.5 hours on facebook?? Seriously? I don't get it. I check mine about every 2 weeks, I'm on for 5 minutes, and I'm bored. I do need a facebook lesson though so I can use it for marketing. :)

Not JUST facebooking, silly. Stuff so I can avoid the more important stuff. Like I don't have my own 2 page list of anxiety inducing "to-do's"! Sheesh! :)

A Mother's Day Letter to My Kids

Dear all of you, Last year I had a thought or impression, maybe. I felt like I wanted to send you guys a letter to tell you my thoughts about Mother's Day. Well the day, week, month and year came and went, and I never did. This year, same impression. This time I'm responding to that impression.  My path to motherhood was slightly different than most. Four kids within a few weeks of being married and then 5 of my own. Mothering is hard work. And strangely, nobody bothers to actually tell you how hard it is. Mothering is also the most rewarding thing I can think of ever doing.  I used to hate Mother's Day. It's not uncommon. Gather 20 mothers together, ask them to discuss mother's day and I would be willing to bet more than 1/2 of them hate it. The reasons vary. Sunday

Now that church starts at 9:00 and ends at 12:00; and all kids are above the age of 5; and I have given up the ridiculous guilt complex I used to impose on myself about "needing" to spend time with our family members, I can have a beautiful Sunday afternoon/evening. Chicken enchiladas and red beans and rice for "dinner" about 1:30, (with help from the hubby, of course) a little cleaning in the kitchen to wash all the pans and dishes I messed up, in bed for a nap around 2:30, sleep until 5:44 (YEA!) and I am one happy camper. Home evening around 6:15 - we reviewed our 2009 goals. What does it mean when most family members don't even remember what their goals were? Home evening treat and the Sunday is almost over. Four girls start school tomorrow after a 2 week long spring break. Yea, 2 WEEKS! It has been good. A little of this and a little of that.
